Read and react!

Hello there!

Today we started reading our very first novel. Some of you chose the novel "Big Mouth & Ugly Girl" and some of you chose "Misery." While reading I want you to answer some questions and discuss both contents and matters of structuring a story. Because of how important vocabulary is to the English language, it is uttermost important for you to improve and a good way to learn new words is to read. A lot!

 Please answer the following questions before our next lesson:

1. Who is the novel about?
2. Where does the story take place?
3.  In which period of time is the novel set?
4. Could the story be set in the 16th century or in the future, you think?
3. Do think the main character is sympathetic or not? Give your reasons!
4 Did you learn any new words in the first chapter? If so, make a list which you can use as a glossary of your own.
5. Prepare to tell your fellow students about your reading experiences. What is your first impression of the present novel? What novels have you read before and which is your favourite novel? Give your reasons!
